2023 State Roundup Registration Packet Available Now!

Roundup registration opens May 1st but start making plans now with the Roundup registration packet.

Reed Arena will be our hub location this year for registration, all assemblies, the trade show, workshops, and pre and post assembly activities! Contests will be held at various locations across campus and Bryan, College Station. A schedule of events including locations will be posted later in April.

This year we will be offering a “contestant all inclusive” registration, which will include access to contests, workshops, and any pre-post assembly activities for the entire week of Roundup, Monday - Thursday. A “contestant day pass” will also be available as well, BUT that will only grant access to contest and activities on THAT DAY! We will be sending more information about the registration process later in April.

As a reminder, Texas 4-H Roundup is a Senior level 4-H event only. Don’t forget to book your hotel. Hotel room block information can be found on our Roundup webpage. Many blocks are already full and those still available have the first week of May deadlines before releasing rooms to the general public. Click here to access the information.

2023 Texas 4-H Fashion Show, Duds to Dazzle and Storyboard Guidelines

The 4-H Fashion and Interior Design contest rules and guidelines for 2022-23 have been updated and are available on the Fashion & Interior Design website.  As you will see in the guidelines, there have been very few changes.

As a reminder these changes are for the Texas 4-H State contests; district contest rules may vary.

Fashion Show – Construction, Buying and Natural Fiber

  • Updated description of Semi-formal to Formal in both construction and buying.
  • Paperwork was changed last year and as a reminder construction paperwork requires a photo of a construction detail along with a description of the technique.
  • Clarification on competing in Fashion Show construction and buying and in one of the Fashion Show Natural Fiber categories.
  • Participants may compete in a Fashion Show Buying or Construction category and in a Fashion Show Natural Fiber wool/mohair or cotton category at the Texas 4-H Roundup if they finished first at the district contest in their respective categories. Participants may enter the same garment, or they may enter different garments based on the individual category guidelines.

Duds to Dazzle

  • Fabric Clips have been added to the sewing kit list.
  • E6000 glue has been changed to crafting or fabric glue (2types)

 Storyboard

  • No Design Brief for 2023.   In 2023 4-H members competing in the Storyboard Invitational will not be given a design brief, but instead will have the opportunity to find their own inspiration and direction for their design.
  • Designer’s Choice - The title for each storyboard will be determined by the designer
  • Entry and submission of Storyboard. All entries must be saved as a PDF, jpeg, jpg or png. Entries will be submitted online from May 1, 2023 -May 15, 2023.
