Texas 4-H Poultry Ambassador Short Course - Due May 1

Texas 4-H and Texas A&M Poultry Science are partnering up to bring you the inaugural Texas 4-H Poultry Ambassador Short Course in June of 2022! Modeled after the Texas 4-H Equine and Livestock Ambassador Programs, the Texas 4-H Poultry Ambassador Program is designed to provide high school aged 4-H members the opportunity to develop and practice advanced leadership skills related to mentoring other youth, and to become advocates for the poultry industry. As a part of this program, Ambassadors must contribute 40 hours of service in poultry advocacy and mentoring other youth on the local, district and state level through opportunities such as clinics, presentations, and mentorship to new 4-H families. Not only that, Ambassadors are charged with seeking and creating poultry advocacy engagements through civic clubs, radio stations, newspapers, television, social media, grocery stores, major shows and elected official interactions.

Applications are now open for our 2022-2023 class of Ambassadors, and they will close on May 1st. Our short course will be held June 15-17, 2022 at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.

**REMINDER **Major/CCJLSA Turkey Order form - Due Aug. 20

Turkeys for Majors & CCJLSA

To order turkeys you must complete the form and make payment. Payments should be made to Comal 4-H Council. No orders will be finalized without both the form and FULL payment. Orders are due directly to the extension office by Friday August 20th @ 5 pm. There will be NO late orders accepted!

Remember this order only gets you the birds you must still register for livestock shows on November 3rd, 4th, or 5th, exact time TBA.

Reminder---Major/CCJLSA Turkey Order form

This year to help with consistency and record keeping, we are introducing order forms for all poultry orders and tag orders. The first order this will affect is Major/CCJLSA turkey orders.  

To order turkeys you must complete the form and make payment. Payments should be made to Comal 4-H Council. No orders will be finalized without both the form and FULL payment. Orders are due directly to the extension office by Tuesday August 18th @ 5 pm. There will be NO late orders accepted!
