Special Awards

Comal County 4-H members, leaders, and parents may submit nominations for the awards below. Award recipients are chosen by the Comal County 4-H Council Officers and each recipient is recognized with a plaque at the annual 4-H Awards Program. If there is no nominee for a category, then a nominated category can have multiple recipients. A maximum of 4 awards will be given each year.

***Star Awards applications and special award nominations are due to the Extension Office by 5:00 pm on June 30, 2022.

Update!! Email sent to those who sent in applications. Interviews on July 17th.

Interviews will be on Friday, July 8th. A signup genius will be sent out next week so you can sign up for times.

Salute to Excellence Awards - Due March 11

Nominations are now being accepted now through Friday, March 11, 2022 for the Texas 4-H Volunteer Awards (also known as Salute to Excellence Awards).  

Nominations are now open online through Formsite to recognize volunteers, donors, and AgriLife personnel for their continued commitment to the Texas 4-H Youth Development Program. These can be supporters (individuals, couples, businesses, organizations) who assist at the county, district, regional, or state level.  The six recognition categories are:

• Leader Legacy
• Citation for Outstanding Service
• 4-H Alumni
• Commendable Service
• Meritorious Service
• Salute to Excellence

Green Cord Award Application - due March 20th

The Green Cord Application is Now Available!  Due March 20th!

The green cord is a new award that this year's awards committee has worked on developing. Selected graduating seniors will receive 4-H cords at the April Council Meeting.
