Texas (State) 4-H Roundup - Registration May 1-12
---------------------------------------------------------------
This year, Texas 4-H Roundup will be requiring all youth and adults in attendance to register. As noted in the Roundup Guide released in the fall, there will be a charge by contest this year rather than a flat fee for the week. Contests will be $25/per contest. In addition, those wishing to participate in LEAD Academy will have a $25/day charge as well. We know this is a change from years past, but due to costs associated with our event, this change was necessary. All contestants will be provided a complimentary Texas 4-H Roundup t-shirt again this year. We will be selling additional t-shirts through Marketplace as in the past for non-contestants, parents, and others wishing to purchase. T-shirts must be picked up at Roundup, they will not be mailed.
Also, all required forms will be uploaded into the registration system at time of registration. Many of these forms must be signed by a parent/guardian. We will have a link to all forms on our website prior to May 1 so families can begin preparing those documents which must be included. Forms will also be uploaded of 4-H members competing in Food Show, Fashion Show and Discover Scientific Method, as we have done in the past.
LEAD Academy is back in-person this year and we are excited to be offering both youth and adult focused workshops. Information specifically related to LEAD Academy will be coming soon!
2021 Texas 4-H Roundup Details
The Texas 4-H Roundup Registration information is now posted on our Texas 4-H Roundup website under https://texas4-h.tamu.edu/events/roundup/
Expectations of the 2021 Texas 4-H Roundup
This year ONLY YOUTH will be required to register for Texas 4-H Roundup. However, all youth must be accompanied by an adult. All Chaperone (Volunteer Screening) requirement still apply. County offices, you will be responsible for determining what adults will be chaperoning the youth attending form your county. If the youth are attending with their parent/guardian and they will not be responsible for other youth then volunteer screening is not a requirement.
Since this year’s event will
primarily focus on contest, youth will check in
and check out each day from their contest location. Upon check
out, they will be in the care of their parent/guardian or chaperone.
**NOTE** As a reminder this year’s event is open to only SENIOR level 4-H members (9th – 12th graders as of 9/1/2020). We realize some of the contest specific rules and guidelines may still reflect Intermediate information regarding the contest opportunities, however the Texas 4-H Guide changes made in February noting NO INTERMEDIATES oversees all contest rules.
The Texas 4-H Roundup website has been updated to put a direct link to the HSS Form. We also have a direct link there as well for the Medication Forms (this is not uploaded at time of registration but required for those that is applies to when being chaperoned).

2021 Texas 4-H Roundup Update
We wanted to remind everyone that Registration for Texas 4-H Roundup opens this Saturday, May 1st. It will close on May 12th. We will have a small window for late registrations at an increased rate.
Some information may still be pending at this time and additional information regarding any COVID guidelines will be communicated with our attendees closer to the event.
**This year as part of registration, we will be requiring a signed Health Statement in 4HOnline.This year’s Texas 4-H Roundup will be open to only Senior
level 4-H members (9th – 12th as of 9/1/2020).
We are looking at being able to host some in-person awards recognition ceremonies this year, more details to come later in May as final plans are developed. They will not be held in Reed Arena as traditionally held, but instead will be a part of some events hosted by our Bryan/College Station partnership.
2021 Texas 4-H Roundup Update
So that we can host certain aspects of Texas 4-H Roundup in 2021, the Texas 4-H Youth Development program has made the decision that we will not be able to offer Intermediate contest opportunities this year. While this was a tough decision to make, we felt that because of the limitations we will be facing regarding facilities and capacity due to Covid-19 social distancing restrictions, we needed to focus our efforts on opportunities for our Senior level (9th – 12th grade) 4-H members. This could be the last Texas 4-H Roundup for many of our Senior level 4-H members while our middle school 4-H members have many more years of events to look forward to in the future. We look forward to what we hope to be a more traditional Texas 4-H Roundup in 2022 where our Intermediate 4-H youth will have the opportunity to participate.
We are still committed to hosting a face-to-face opportunity for our Senior level 4-H members, but as stated in November, the event will look very different from past events.Texas 4-H Roundup has been canceled

HOTEL CANCELLATIONS: The state office has reached out to Experience BCS this morning regarding the cancellation of Texas 4-H Roundup. They will be notifying all the hotels within our Room Block. However, we encourage families that made hotel reservations to also reach out and confirm that your cancellation has been made. Those that made hotel accommodations outside of the official Texas 4-H Roundup hotel room block or with an Airbnb, you must notify those directly. We do not have list of those locations so are not able to send them the official cancellation notification.
