The State office has secured room
rates with several hotels in the Bryan College Station area for the 2020 Texas
4-H Roundup. PLEASE NOTE: Hotel accommodations and cancellations policies vary
by hotel. Please confirm details prior to booking with the hotel directly so
that you are aware of their cancellation requirements. Most hotels have a
minimal 3-day cancellation to avoid payment penalty. Also, NOT ALL hotels offer
complimentary breakfast. Please ask these details when booking. If you have any
problems regarding booking, please contact the State 4-H Office so that we can
work with the hotel to determine the problem.
You will notice that the rates this
year have been lowered again 😊 YEAH!! Most all hotels
are offering $98-$109 room rates, some even lower. As a reminder, we receive
funding from the local Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds (HOT Grant) annually to host
the event. These funds allow us to continue to keep our rate for this event at
a minimal. These funds are generated through our hotel room block and we must
meet a minimal room night requirements to receive our maximum funding annually.
We know there are many options when staying in the BCS area, but we encourage
you to use local hotels for the benefit of the continued HOT Grant funding. You
are able to utilize a hotel that is not on the room block, but we will ask that
you report that later to us in the spring so we are able to capture those
nights in our reporting. Local Airbnb, VRBOs or use of camping sites DO NOT
COUNT towards our room night calculations because there are no hotel occupancy
taxes generated from those locations.
