The county-wide range management project is getting ready to start meeting and learning about Texas rangelands and how to manage them. This project focuses on learning grasses found on Texas rangelands for the 4-H Range & Pasture Grass Identification Contest (Grass Judging). The project also teaches members about range management principles and practices which lead participants to compete in the 4-H Range Evaluation Contest, where you will also need to learn not only the grasses, but also the forbs, legumes and woody plants. The project will start in January. There will be occasional field trips, but generally the practices are indoors. The district contests will be April 21, 2022 in Fredericksburg.
