Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador - Due March 15

Changes are coming to the Healthy Texas Youth Ambassador (HTYA) program fir 2023-24! Please read carefully. 

Here are the highlights of the changes which are included in the handbook and additional attachments.
2023 HTYA Handbook

Applications
  • Applications will be due March 15 for the 2023-24 year. This revised deadline is due to changes in summer training summit.
  • New AND Returning ambassadors must apply annually.
  • Applicants must be in good standing with other statewide ambassador groups they may be or have been a part of. In other words, if an applicant failed to meet the requirements of another state ambassador group, they will not be accepted into the HTYA program.
  • Applications will be submitted online. Once application deadline closes, agents will be contacted to approve the applications received for their county.
  • Current ambassadors will still have until the end of May to complete their required hours. Should they apply and fail to complete their hours, they will be dismissed from the program at that time.
Summit Training
  • In 2023, HTYA will hold ONE Super Summit for all new and returning ambassadors. This Super Summit will be held June 4-5 prior to Texas 4-H Roundup in College Station.
  • Tentative timeline for summit is Sunday, June 4 from 1 – 7 PM, and Monday, June 5 from 8:00 AM – 5PM.
  • Estimated cost for the summit is $50-75 person.
  • Lodging and travel will be the responsibility of the ambassador.
  • There will be no virtual or alternative options offered in 2023. Applicants must commit wholeheartedly to the HTYA program when applying, including attending the Super Summit. Applicants should reserve the June 4-5 dates before applying!
  • Registration will be separate from Roundup registration for this event.
