4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Project (WHEP) State Contest - register by April 17

Registration is still open on 4-H Online for the 4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Project (WHEP) State Contest to be held May 20-21 in Jeff Davis County at the Nature Conservancy Davis Mountain Preserve.  The study resource and contest rules/procedures can be found on the 4-H Wildlife & Fisheries webpage (https://texas4-h.tamu.edu/projects/wildlife-fisheries/) under ‘Contests’. See the document below for more information.

  • Open to all age divisions as an individual or a team of 3-4.

The Davis Mountains are one of the most unique habitats in the state.  The Davis Mountain Preserve is located high in these remote mountains and contain a variety of wildlife species not seen elsewhere in the state.  Being able to access this site is a special treat for anyone interested in Texas wildlife.  Come join us for this fun weekend learning about the wildlife and habitat of this far west Texas ecoregion.
